CONSIDER ADOPTING RESOLUTION NO. 18-014, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A MOBILE SOURCE AIR POLLUTION REDUCTION REVIEW COMMITTEE (MSRC) GRANT APPLICATION FOR WHICH THE CITY OF CARSON IS ELIGIBLE (CITY COUNCIL)

I. SUMMARY

The Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC) administers a Local Government Partnership Program providing Clean Transportation Funding grants to reduce air pollution generated by various mobile sources (i.e., cars, trucks, buses, etc.) in the State of California (State). In order to be eligible to receive grants, MSRC requires the adoption of a resolution by the City Council authorizing submittal and administration of applications for the grant for which the City of Carson is eligible. Staff is currently preparing a grant submission to purchase three electric vehicles and two charging stations. Resolution No. 18-014 authorizes the submittal of the MSRC grant application (Exhibit No. 1). The Local Government Partnership Program - MSRC Presentation informs Council of this unique partnership opportunity (Exhibit No. 2).

II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation

1. WAIVE further reading and ADOPT Resolution No. 18-014, authorizing submittal of qualifying project applications, and allocating matching funds from the City's AB2766 Subvention Fund account.

2. ACKNOWLEDGE receipt of the Local Government Partnership Program - MSRC Presentation.

1. DO NOT ADOPT Resolution No. 18-014. However, the MSRC requires adoption of a resolution authorizing submittal of MSRC grant applications.

2. DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE receipt of the MSRC supplied presentation.

3. TAKE another action the City Council deems appropriate.
