I. SUMMARY

The Council introduced for first reading on November 9, 2017, Ordinance 17-1637 to prohibit all commercial cannabis operations in the City except for limited operations (including manufacturing operations) as defined in the ordinance. A resolution to adopt specific additional operating standards and restrictions for manufacturing operations is provided to Council for consideration and adoption.

IV. BACKGROUND

At a special City Council meeting held on November 9, 2017, Ordinance No. 17-1637 which both prohibits all commercial cannabis operations except for limited operations (including manufacturing) as defined in the ordinance, while also regulating personal cannabis cultivation stricter than state standards, was introduced for first reading.
Ordinance No. 17-1637 is now agendized at the November 21, 2017 City Council meeting for second reading and adoption. That ordinance provides for a comprehensive set of general regulations applicable to all types of commercial cannabis operations (including manufacturing operations).
