CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION NO. 17-062, EXPANDING PREFERENTIAL PERMIT PARKING ZONE "E" TO INCLUDE 218TH PLACE EAST OF MAIN STREET AND REGULATING PARKING WITHIN THE ZONE (CITY COUNCIL)

Body
I. SUMMARY

Permit Parking Zone "E" was established on the 100 block of 218th Street in April 2016 after a petition was submitted requesting a permit parking zone to prevent excursion bus customers from parking on this residential street. A petition has now been submitted by the residents of the 100 block of 218th Place requesting that the permit parking zone be expanded to include their block, which is one block south of 218th Street. The objective of this new petition is to prevent the excursion bus customers as well as the patrons of St. Philomena Church from parking on their street. These two streets are located east of Main Street and south of Carson Street between the Alberton's shopping center and St. Philomena Church (Exhibits No. 1 and 2). Resolution No. 17-062 would expand Permit Parking Zone "E" to include 218th Place in addition to 218th Street.
