I. SUMMARY

An Invitation for Bid (IFB No. 22-31) was released on April 21, 2022 to seek proposals from qualified contractors to provide resurfacing and screen and re-coat maintenance services for various City indoor basketball courts, dance floors and racquetball courts. In response to the IFB, staff received three proposals. After careful analysis and evaluation of the proposals, staff is recommending the City Council to award a contract to McWil Sports Surfaces, Inc.

II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation

TAKE the following actions:
1. AWARD a contract with McWil Sports Surfaces Inc. to provide indoor court resurfacing for the Public Works Department for a three-year period and in a not-to-exceed amount of $286,865.78.
2. AUTHORIZE Mayor to execute a contract with McWil Sports Surfaces, Inc. following approval as to form by the City Attorney (Exhibit No. 1)

TAKE any other action the City Council deems appropriate, consistent with the requirements of applicable law.


IV. BACKGROUND

The City owns, operates, and maintains 28 basketball courts, 2 dance floors, and 18 tennis courts. Residents frequent the City parks regularly and utilize the City's basketball courts, dance floors, and tennis courts and this usage brings wear and tear on these court surfaces. It was determined by the Facility Maintenance Department that resurfacing and re-coating of the courts and dance floors is needed. Such scope of services includes but is not limited to filling minor cracks, installing several coats of acrylic, and replacing logos and play lines with paint that is compatible with the chosen sealer and finish.
