CONSIDERATION OF A FEE WAIVER REQUEST FOR THE CARSON WOMEN'S CLUB

I.                     SUMMARY

City Council is asked to consider waiving room reservation fees for use of the Carson Event Center by the Carson Women’s Club for three (3) events in 2023: a Spring Musical, Scholarship Luncheon, and Holiday Banquet.

II.                     RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

                     CONSIDER and PROVIDE direction.

TAKE another action City Council deems appropriate.

                     IV.                     BACKGROUND

The Carson Women’s Club requests a fee waiver for the following events at the Carson Event Center/Carson Community Center (Exhibit No. 1: Permit #R2061):

                     Spring Musical on April 23, 2023, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Carson-Dominguez Room

 

                     Scholarship Luncheon on May 27, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Main Hall A

 

                     Holiday Banquet on December 2, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. in the Carson-Dominguez Room

Should the City Council approve the Carson Women’s Club request for a full fee waiver for all three (3) events, the City will forego $2,655.75 in revenue as shown below.

V.                     FISCAL IMPACT
