CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTIONS CALLING FOR THE CONDUCT OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2022, REQUESTING CONSOLIDATION WITH LOS ANGELES COUNTY AND ADOPTING REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO CANDIDATE STATEMENTS (CITY COUNCIL)

I. SUMMARY
The General Municipal Election for the City of Carson (City) will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. The City will elect one (1) Member of the City Council for District 2, for a full term of four (4) years; one (1) Member of the City Council for District 4, for a full term of four (4) years; City Clerk, for a full term of four (4) years; and City Treasurer, for a full term of four (4) years.
In accordance with California Election law, the City Clerk is requesting City Council adopt appropriate resolutions calling the election, requesting election consolidation and candidate statement regulations.
II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
1. WAIVE FURTHER READING AND ADOPT Resolution No. 22-127, A Resolution Of The City Council Of The City Of Carson, California, Calling For The Holding Of A General Municipal Election To Be Held On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, For The Election Of Certain Officers As Required By The Provisions Of The Laws Of The State Of California; and
2. WAIVE FURTHER READING AND ADOPT Resolution No. 22-128, A Resolution Of The City Council Of The City Of Carson, California, Adopting Regulations For Candidates For Elective Office, Pertaining To Candidate Fees and Candidates Statements Submitted To The Voters At A General Municipal Election To Be Held On Tuesday, November 8, 2022; and
3. WAIVE FURTHER READING AND ADOPT Resolution No. 22-129, A Resolution Of The City Council Of The City Of Carson, California, Requesting The Board Of Supervisors Of The County Of Los Angeles To Order The Consolidation Of A General Municipal Election To Be Held On November 8, 2022 With The Statewide General Election To B...
