CONSIDER AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT WITH F.C. & SONS ROOFING, INC. TO COMPLETE NEEDED ROOF REPAIRS AT CALAS PARK (CITY COUNCIL).

I. SUMMARY
Capital Improvement Project (CIP) No. PW-1416 is for roof repairs needed to the Calas Park main office and snack bar. These upgrades include, but are not limited to, removal of old shingles and inspecting and replacing sheathing of both buildings. To commence these projects, an Invitation for Bid was released on April 21, 2022, to solicit bids from qualified contractors. Four bids were received by the May 16, 2022 deadline (Exhibit No. 1) and upon extensive review, F.C. & Sons Roofing, Inc. ("FC & Sons") was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The City Council is asked to award a contract in a not-to-exceed amount of $156,405.00 to FC & Sons to complete these improvements (Exhibit No. 2).
II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
TAKE the following actions:
1. AWARD a construction contract with F.C. & Sons Roofing, Inc. to complete needed improvements at Calas Park in an amount not-to-exceed $156,405.00.
2. AUTHORIZE Mayor to execute the Agreement, following approval as to form by the City Attorney.

TAKE any other action the City Council deems appropriate, consistent with the requirements of applicable law.
IV. BACKGROUND
The Public Works Department has determined that repairs must be made to the existing roofs at Calas Park. Specifically, there are problems with the roof that are exhibited through the ceiling, and the roof leaks on rainy days.
An Invitation for Bids was released via Planet Bids and the Daily Journal on April 21, 2022, to solicit vendors to complete repairs that include, but are not limited to, removing old material, inspecting sheathing, and removing damaged sheathing. By the May 16, 2022 deadline, four (4) proposals were received:
