CONTINUED PUBLIC HEARING FOR CONSIDERATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 21-2120, AMENDING THE CARSON ZONING ORDINANCE REGARDING REGARDING PERMITTED USES IN THE INDUSTRIAL ZONES FOR REGULATED AND NONREGULATED SUBSTANCES AND HAZARDOUS MATERIALS, AND REGARDING NONCONFORMITIES FOR USE OF REGULATED SUBSTANCES (CITY COUNCIL)

I.                     SUMMARY

This item was noticed and placed on the agenda for the October 19, 2021 City Council meeting.  After opening and closing the public hearing, the City Council continued this item to the November 16, 2021 meeting.  Since the last City Council meeting, staff has identified a number of ways that the ordinance can be improved.   Therefore, staff is requesting this item to be continued off the calendar and will re-notice it for a future meeting.

 

II.                     RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

1.                     OPEN the public hearing, and

2.                     TAKE public testimony, and

3.                     CLOSE the public hearing, and

4.                     CONTINUE the public hearing off calendar and re-notice the hearing for a future date.

The continuance will allow staff the additional time needed to revise portions of the proposed ordinance for City Council’s further consideration.
