CONSIDER AN INFORMATIONAL UPDATE ON CITY PROJECTS (CITY COUNCIL)

I. SUMMARY

This report was requested by Mayor Lula Davis-Holmes and transmits an informational update to the City Council regarding various City projects that are currently underway or will begin soon.
Detailed updates on physical projects are provided in the following City function areas: Community Development Department (Exhibit 1), Public Works Department (Exhibit 2), Information Technology Department (Exhibit 3), and the Public Safety Division within the City Manager's Office (Exhibit 4).
Updates will be provided to the City Council as these and other projects continue to develop.

II. RECOMMENDATION

RECEIVE and FILE this informational report on various City projects.

TAKE another action the City Council deems appropriate and is consistent with applicable law.

IV. BACKGROUND

The projects included in this report are meant to provide an update on current projects underway and those that will begin soon.
The Public Works Department has included a list of projects (Exhibit 2) that are in the CIP for Fiscal Year 2021-2022 that are active and in-progress. An update on citywide Public Works maintenance activities will be presented at the Oct 19, 2021 City Council meeting. This will include updates on concrete projects, asphalt projects, grinding and overlay, slurry seal, and the urban forest program including trees and landscaping.

V. FISCAL IMPACT

The purpose of this item is to provide information only and there is no direct fiscal impact associated with this staff report.
The majority of the projects included within the report have fiscal impacts and these expenditures have either already been approved by the City Council or will be presented to the City Council for approval once ready and as needed.
