CONSIDERATION OF LOCAL APPOINTMENTS TO THE CITY'S COMMISSIONS, COMMITTEES AND BOARDS; AND/OR CITY COUNCIL SUB-COMMITTEES; AND/OR CITY-AFFILIATED ORGANIZATIONS BY MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL (CITY COUNCIL)

I. SUMMARY
This item is on the agenda to consider appointments and/or removals of Commissioners, Committee and Board members in accordance with the City Charter, Article VI; and/or Council member assignments and/or removals to the City Council Sub-Committees (SC); and/or City-Affiliated Organizations by Mayor and City Council.
At the June 1, 2021 City Council Regular Meeting, Mayor and Council made appointments to the various commissions, committees, boards and Council Sub-committees (Exhibit 1).
At the same meeting, Mayor Davis-Holmes continued this item to the next City Council meeting with no objection heard.
At the June 7, 2021 Carson Reclamation Authority (CRA) meeting, the CRA board unanimously approved to appoint Lula Davis-Holmes as Chair and Cedric Hicks as Vice Chair (Exhibit 1).
On June 7, 2021, staff provided the City Clerk's Office with a copy of a letter from the Filipino-American Chamber of Commerce of Southbay Los Angeles Area (FACC-SLAA) for Mayor and City Council to accept the nomination of Janice Jimenez to be appointed to serve on the South Bay Workforce Investment Board for the 4-year term of office commencing July 1, 2021, as a representative of the Carson business private-sector (Exhibit 2).
II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
TAKE the following actions:
1. CONSIDER and APPOINT, REAPPOINT or REMOVE members to the Commissions, Committees and Boards; and/or
2. REAFFIRM, RE-DESIGNATE and/or DESIGNATE member assignments to the City Council Sub-Committees; and/or
3. REAFFIRM, RE-DESIGNATE and/or DESIGNATE delegates and alternates to the City-Affiliated Organizations; and
