CONSIDER ADOPTING RESOLUTION NO. 20-179, AUTHORIZING THE SERVICES OF KEN PORTER AUCTIONS TO FACILITATE THE SURPLUS OF TWENTY- FIVE (25) CITY OWNED VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT (CITY COUNCIL)

I. SUMMARY

Three inoperable city-owned vehicles, nine pieces of obsolete equipment and eleven pieces of inoperable handheld equipment are being recommended for City surplus due to their age or diminished need and to alleviate limited parking at the City's new Corporate Yard. (Exhibit No. 1).
Prior to being inoperable, these vehicles and equipment were used primarily in Public Works' day-to-day operations and have incurred heavy mileage/hours over the years and repetitive costly engine repairs. The City Council is asked to approve the surplus of the twenty-five (25) City-owned vehicles and pieces of equipment, and to authorize the services of Ken Porter Auctions to facilitate the vehicles' sale.

II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation

TAKE the following actions:
1. APPROVE the surplus of twenty-five (25) City Vehicles and Equipment, Vehicle No. 1261, 1075, 1049, 1260, 992 and Equipment No. 717, 767, 790, 969, 1141, 1178, 1179, 1212, 1048, 1108, 1159, 1239, 1270, 1276, 1291, 1293, 1324, 1328, 1337, 802.
2. WAIVE further reading and ADOPT Resolution No.20 - 170, "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE UTILIZATION OF KEN PORTER AUCTIONS TO FACILITATE THE SURPLUS OF TWENTY-FIVE (25) CITY VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT"
