CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION NO. 19-187, AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN, RESOLUTION NO. 77-111, BY ADOPTING NEW OR REVISED JOB CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATIONS FOR COMMUNITY LIAISON REPRESENTATIVE (CITY COUNCIL)

I. SUMMARY
At this time, Staff is presenting the Community Liaison Representative job spec to properly reflect the current City and department needs. AFSCME 1017 has requested amendments to the Community Liaison Representative job spec as a result of the request and creation of the Part-Time Council Aide job spec before you for Council approval.
II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
“WAIVE further reading and ADOPT Resolution No. 19-187, “A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON, CALIFORNIA AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN, RESOLUTION NO. 77-111. BY ADOPTING THE REVISED JOB CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATION FOR COMMUNITY LIAISON REPRESENTATIVE.”

TAKE any other action the City Council deems appropriate.
IV. BACKGROUND
The required Meet & Confer with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Union (AFSCME) Local 1017, was conducted on November 18, 2019. AFSCME 1017 requested the attached job spec amendment and both parties are in agreement on the updated Community Liaison Representative job spec (Salary Range 248, $5,609 - $7,158). The job spec amendment was requested by AFSCME 1017 as a result of the Part-Time Council Aide job spec being presented for Council approval.
