CONSIDER AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE AGREEMENT FOR CONTRACT SERVICES BETWEEN THE CITY AND AMERICAN GUARD SERVICES, INC., TO ADD FOUR SECURITY GUARDS AT THE CORPORATE YARD (CITY COUNCIL); AND, ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 19-063, AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2018/19 BUDGET IN THE GENERAL FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $12,741.44 (CITY COUNCIL)

I. SUMMARY
Staff is seeking approval to amend the contract services agreement between the City of Carson and American Guard Services, Inc., to add four security guards at the Corporate Yard in order to provide 24-hour, 7 day-per-week security coverage at the Corporate Yard, and to increase the contract amount by $185,390.40 accordingly as follows:
a. Contract Year 1 = $ 6,240.00
b. Contract Year 2 = $84,518.72
c. Contract Year 3 = $94,631.68
II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
TAKE the following actions:
1. APPROVE Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement for Contract Services between the City and American Guard Services, Inc., adding four security guards at the Corporate Yard beginning May 1, 2019 through May 31, 2021 ("Amendment").
2. AUTHORIZE the Mayor to execute the Amendment upon approval as to form by the City Attorney.
3. ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 19- 063, A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CARSON CITY COUNCIL AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2018/19 BUDGET IN THE GENERAL FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $12,741.44.

1. TAKE any other action the City Council deems appropriate.
IV. BACKGROUND
On May 1, 2018, the City Council awarded American Guard Services, Inc. a three-year contract to provide city building security services for the period of June 1, 2018 through May 31, 2021.
