I. SUMMARY

At a recent meeting, the City Council requested staff to provide an update on three residential development projects throughout the City. These development projects include Veteran's Village of Carson by Thomas Safran and Associates, Carson Arts Colony by Meta Housing and the Union South Bay by the Wolff Companies. All three projects are currently under construction.

II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation

TAKE the following action:

IV. BACKGROUND

The following information has been provided either by the developer or from their website.
Veteran's Village of Carson
The mixed use project includes 51 affordable units for veterans of the United States Armed Forces, along with 2,500 square feet of commercial on the ground floor within the 4-story building. The project is on track for completion in late summer 2019. The developer's management team is currently in lease-up for the affordable units. In addition, they are working with the Veteran's Administration on an agreement for 15 of the units to become Permanent Supportive Housing units for veterans.


Carson Arts Colony
Currently under construction and expected to be completed in August of 2019. The developer is expecting to start the leasing and tenant selection process in April, with application workshops for the artists. In addition, they will work separately with the LA County Department of Health to identify individuals and/or families who would occupy the 10 units set aside for those at risk of homelessness.
