CONSIDER RECOGNIZING FORMER MAYOR PRO TEM AND COUNCILMEMBER ELITO M. SANTARINA DURING THE MARCH 19, 2019 COUNCIL MEETING FOR HIS 16 YEARS OF SERVICE TO CARSON RESIDENTS ON THE CARSON CITY COUNCIL (CITY COUNCIL)

I. SUMMARY
Tthe City Council is requested to consider recognizing Former Mayor Pro Tem and Councilmember Elito M. Santarina. He served in public office for the City of Carson since 2003. It is recommended that the City host a recognition event during Council meeting of March 19, 2019, consisting of the presentation of a proclamation, in which the public will be formally invited and cake will be served.
II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
1. APPROVE the planning of a celebratory event for former Mayor Pro Tem and Councilmember Elito M. Santarina.
2. APPROVE Resolution No. 19-037, A RESOLUTION OF THE CARSON CITY COUNCIL, AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2018-19 BUDGET IN THE GENERAL FUND to appropriate $5,000.00 into Account No. 101-10-100-100-6004 for the purpose of this event.

IV. BACKGROUND
Should this item be approved by the City Council, a proclamation will be presented to former Mayor Pro Tem and Councilmember Elito M. Santarina on March 19, 2019, in recognition of his 16 years of service to Carson residents with cake and punch to be served immediately following the presentation. Expenditures would include the printing and mailing of printed invitations; cake, punch and food service; delivery and clean-up; and an onsite photographer.
V. FISCAL IMPACT
Resolution No. 19-037 would appropriate $5,000.00 into Account No. 101-10-100-100-6004 for the purpose of this recognition ceremony.
