I. SUMMARY

The General Municipal Election was conducted on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (LARRCC) certified the returns of the election on December 3, 2018 and the presentation of canvass was presented to the Board of Supervisors on December 4, 2018. Pursuant to California Elections Code Section 10263, the governing body shall adopt a resolution reciting the facts of the election and the other matters that are enumerated.


II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation

WAIVE further reading and ADOPT Resolution No. 19-001, "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Carson, California Reciting the Fact of the General Municipal Election Held on November 6, 2018, Declaring the Result of the City Council, City Clerk, City Treasurer and Such Other Matters as Provided by Law.

IV. BACKGROUND

On June 19, 2018, amongst other things, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 18-070 calling the General Municipal Election to be held on November 6, 2018 for the purpose of electing two members of the City Council for a full term of four years each, a City Clerk for a full term of four years, and a City Treasurer for a full term of four years. On the same date, the City Council took actions adopting Resolution No. 18-071 confirming and affirming the consolidation of the General Municipal Election with the statewide general election to be conducted by Los Angeles County.
