CONSIDER RESOLUTION NO. 19-015 AMENDING AND RATIFYING RESOLUTION NO. 18-170 ESTABLISHING THE SALARY AND BENEFITS FOR UNCLASSIFIED MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEES EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 4, 2018 (CITY COUNCIL)

I.                     SUMMARY

Attachment B, City Manager salary table, was inadvertently omitted from Resolution No. 18-170. This resolution will amend Resolution No. 18-170 to include this attachment, which is the same City Manager salary table attached to Resolution No. 16-095. This Resolution includes the previously omitted three (3) floating holidays for unclassified management employees. 

 

II.                     RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Adopt Resolution No. 19-015 ”A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CARSON CITY COUNCIL AMENDING AND RATIFYING RESOLUTION NO. 18-170 ESTABLISHING THE SALARY AND BENEFITS FOR UNCLASSIFIED MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEES EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 4, 2019.”

1.                     DIRECT staff to make changes to the proposed resolution and to bring back the revised resolution at a future meeting.

 

2.                     TAKE another action as the City Council deems appropriate.

 

IV.                     BACKGROUND

On August 2, 2016, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 16-095 establishing the salary and benefits for Unclassified Management Employees. This resolution included attachments setting forth salary schedules for these employees.

On December 4, 2018, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 18-170, which restated and replaced any and all pre-existing salary and benefit resolutions for the Unclassified Management Employees, including Resolution No. 16-095. Attachment B, which set forth the salary schedule for the City Manager for purposes of determining acting pay, was inadvertently omitted from Resolution No. 18-170. Additionally, the provision of three (3) floating holidays to unrepresented management employees was inadvertently left out of section 4.1.  City Council approval of the correct version of Exhibit 2 is required to correct previous errors.

This resolution will amend Resolution No. 18-170 to include Attachment B, restore the three (3) floating holidays as intended, and ratify the City Council’s actions in adopting Resolution No. 18-170.
