CONSIDER APPROVING A CONTRACT EXTENSION #6 WITH GOODWILL TO PROVIDE ROUTINE MAINTENANCE TO THE CITY'S BUS STOPS AND BUS SHELTERS (CITY COUNCIL)

I. SUMMARY

The City Council is being asked to consider authorizing a twelve-month contract extension with Goodwill Industries to provide routine bus stop and bus shelter maintenance for the Carson Circuit (Exhibit No. 1). The cost for this service is $7,757.10 per month, for a total annual cost of $93,085.20.

II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation

1. APPROVE Contract Amendment No. 6 with Goodwill Industries to provide routine maintenance of the City of Carson's bus stops and selected bus shelters in the amount of $7,757.10 per month, for a total cost of $93,085.20, for the period of January 1, 2019, through December 31, 2019 (Exhibit No. 2).
2. AUTHORIZE the Mayor to execute the Goodwill Industries contract extension #6, following approval as to form by the City Attorney.

2. TAKE another action the City Council deems appropriate.

IV. BACKGROUND

Its network of 165 independent, community-based Goodwill facilities throughout the United States and Canada offer customized job training, employment placement and other services to people who have disabilities, lack education, job experience, or face employment challenges. Goodwill meets the needs of a diverse population that includes seniors, youth, veterans, immigrants, and those with criminal backgrounds and other specialized needs.
