ANNUAL LOBBYIST REGISTRATION UPDATE (CITY COUNCIL)

I. SUMMARY
This item is on the agenda pursuant to Carson Municipal Code (CMC) §2357. In May of each year City Clerk Gause shall file an annual report with the City Council, compiling information filed by lobbyist who registered with the City in April of each year.
Below is a list of Lobbyist who registered with the City in April, 2017:

TAKE another action the City Council deems appropriate that is consistent with the requirements of the law.
IV. BACKGROUND
On May 18, 2004 City Council adopted an Ordinance requiring lobbyist to register and report their activities on issues for which they have been hired to exert influence within the City of Carson.
Pursuant to CMC §2354 each registered lobbyist shall renew its registration annually by filing a registration statement with the City Clerk on or before April 1st of each year. Such lobbyist shall be charged a renewal registration fee in the amount of $50.00 or such other fee as may be designated by the Council from time to time, except that lobbyists who file their initial registration within thirty (30) days of April 1st shall not be required to renew their registration.
V. FISCAL IMPACT
Four hundred seventy dollars ($470) was received for 2017 Lobbyist registration and deposited into account 01-00999000-4922.
