CONSIDERATION OF CITY COUNCIL SUB-COMMITTEES (CITY COUNCIL)

I. SUMMARY
At the April 18, 2017 City Council regular meeting, Mayor Robles proposed consolidation and appointments of multiple City Council Sub-Committees, which was ratified by City Council herein:
1. Consolidated the Audit Sub-Committee with the Accountability, Ethics & Policy Sub-Committee; shall be named the Accountability, Ethics & Policy Sub-Committee; appointed Mayor Pro Tem Davis-Holmes and Council Member Hicks;
2. Consolidated the Bingo/Fireworks Sub-Committee with the Towing RFP Sub-Committee; shall be named the Bingo/Fireworks/Towing Sub-Committee appointed Mayor Robles and Mayor Pro Tem Davis-Holmes;
3. Consolidated the Budget/CIP Sub-Committee with the Utility Users Tax Community Outreach Program Sub-Committee; shall be named the Budget/CIP/UUT Outreach Sub-Committee; appointed Mayor Pro Tem Davis-Holmes and Council Member Hicks;
4. Consolidated the Community Development Sub-Committee with the EB-5 Program Sub-Committee; shall be named the Community Development Sub-Committee; appointed Mayor Robles and Council Member Santarina; and
5. Consolidated the Housing Sub-Committee with the Mobilehome Rent Control Sub-Committee; shall be named the Housing Sub-Committee; appointed Mayor Robles and Mayor Pro Tem Davis-Holmes.
Mayor Robles will propose additional consolidations and/or member assignments for Councils consideration and approval.

Recommendation
Consider consolidations and/or member assignments to the City Council Sub-Committees.

Any other action the City Council deems appropriate.
IV. BACKGROUND
Currently, the City has twelve (12) City Council Sub-Committees which consists of Standing and Ad Hoc. It is best practice for the legislative body to occasionally review Commissions, Committees, and Boards for possible duplication of efforts.
