CONSIDERATION OF CITY COUNCIL SUB-COMMITTEES BY MAYOR ROBLES (CITY COUNCIL)

I. SUMMARY
On March 21, 2017, Mayor Robles continued this item to the next meeting.
This item is on the agenda at the request of Mayor Robles to consider member assignments to any City Council Sub-committee (Exhibit No. 1).
On March 7, 2017, Mayor Robles created an Ad Hoc Towing Request for Proposal (RFP) committee. At the same time, Mayor Robles appointed himself and Mayor Pro Tem Lula Davis-Holmes as Sub-committee members; to be chaired by Mayor Pro Tem Davis-Holmes which was ratified by the City Council.
On March 21, 2017, Mayor Robles created an Ad Hoc Moratorium on the Establishment, Expansion, or Modification of Truck Yards, Logistics Facilities, Hazardous Materials or Waste Facilities, Container Storage, and Container Parking committee. At the same time, Mayor Robles appointed himself and Council Member Santarina as Sub-committee members. He also appointed two members from the Planning Commission - Chairman and Vice Chairman, if available, or an alternate from the Planning Commission could be determined later, two members from the Economic Development Commission - Chairman and Vice Chairman and if not available that an alternate be identified later, two members from the Environmental Commission - Chairman and Vice Chairman, and if not available that an alternate be identified later.
II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
1. Mayor Robles to consider member assignments to the City Council Sub-committees.

IV. BACKGROUND
Historically, the City Council considered member assignments to City Council Sub-Committees at their next regular meeting following the annual reorganization of the City Council and/or following any municipal election.
