50^TH ANNIVERSARY COMMITTEE UPDATE INCLUDING COUNCIL SUB-COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS (CITY COUNCIL)

I.                     SUMMARY

This report serves as an update to the Council on the 50^th Anniversary Planning Committee. It is also an opportunity for the Mayor to appoint members of the Council to serve on one or more of the sub-committees which are listed below.

II.                     RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Mayor to APPOINT Councilmembers to serve on sub-committees of the 50^th Anniversary Planning Committee.

TAKE another action the Council deems appropriate.

IV.                     BACKGROUND

The 50^th Anniversary Committee has met twice, December 13, 2016 and January 11, 2017. The first meeting was an opportunity for introductions, and a brainstorming session took place where members proposed ideas for activities and events for throughout 2018. During the second meeting, members signed up for the different sub-committees available to serve on. Those sub-committees are:

Miss Carson Scholarship Pageant Sub-committee

Historical Sub-committee

Publicity Sub-committee

Golf Tournament Sub-committee

50^th Anniversary Gala Ball Sub-committee

Tournament of Roses Parade Float Sub-committee

Fundraising Sub-committee
