CONSIDER APPOINTMENTS BY MAYOR ROBLES, TO, AND/OR REMOVAL FROM COMMISSIONS, COMMITTEES AND BOARDS BY MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL (CITY COUNCIL)

I. SUMMARY
This item is on the agenda at the request of Mayor Robles.
On October 4, 2016, Mayor Robles removed the two extra general members on the Human Relations Commission.
He appointed individuals to the following commissions and board which were ratified by the City Council:
Tamara Young, Alternate Member No. 2 to the Human Relations Commission (Exhibit No. 1, pg. 9.)
Maria Williams, Alternate Member No. 3 to the Human Relations Commission (Exhibit No. 1, pg. 9.)
Michelle Padilla, Special Needs Advocate Member to the Community Civic Engagement Board (Exhibit No. 1, pg. 25.)
Meng Zhau, Technology Advancement and Innovation Commission (Exhibit No. 1, pg. 27.)
Also, Mayor Robles reported that Jane Osuna, Alternate Member No. 2, resigned from the Public Relations Commission and Emillio Loyola resigned from the Veterans Affairs Commission and declared their seats vacant.
The Notices of Vacancy for the Alternate Member No. 2 on the Public Relations Commission and Veterans Affairs Commission were posted on October 6, 2016 and the application closing date is October 25, 2016.
II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
TAKE the following actions:
1. Mayor to CONSIDER, APPOINT, or REAPPOINT members to the Commissions, Committees, and Boards (Exhibit No. 1) in accordance with Ordinance No. 13-1516 regarding the number and composition of various commissions (Exhibit No. 2); Ordinance No. 13-1519 regarding the number of members of various commissions (Exhibit No. 3); Ordinance No. 13-1520 regarding the composition of various commissions (Exhibit No. 4); and Resolution No. 13-046 regarding the composition of the Carson Utility Users Tax Citizens Budget Oversight Committee (Exhibit No. 5);
