CONSIDERATION TO ACCEPT THE PROJECT AS COMPLETE, STEVENSON PARK BASKETBALL BACKBOARDS REPLACEMENT/INSTALLATION FOR THE OUTDOOR BASKETBALL COURTS

I. SUMMARY
Under City Manager authority a Public Works contract of $18,191.83 was issued to Great Western Installation Inc., to remove and replace the old basketball mounts, backboards (4) and rims on the two outdoor basketball courts at Stevenson Park.
The project has been completed in accordance with the approved contract agreement. It is requested that the City Council accept the work as complete.

1. DO NOT ACCEPT the project as complete.
2. TAKE another action the City Council deems appropriate consistent with the requirements of the law.
IV. BACKGROUND
The outdoor basketball courts were in need of repair and replacement after many years of wear and tear. The mounts on the poles were bent and the backboards were fading and it was time to replace. Staff obtained and reviewed three quotes to remove and install new mounts, basketball backboards and rims.
After reviewing the quotes, Great Western Installation Inc. was selected as the lowest responsible responsive bidder and a contract agreement was created for this project. The project was completed in two days, and the new mounts, backboards and rims have been installed in an acceptable manner (Exhibit 1).
V. FISCAL IMPACT
None. Funds of $18,191.83 were available in the FY 23/24 budget for this project at Stevenson Park.
