I. SUMMARY
On June 4, 2024, under Item No. 24 of the City Council Agenda, the City Council voted 5-0 to introduce Ordinance No. 24-2411. This item transmits a request for City Council to conduct a Second Reading and adopt Ordinance No. 24-2411.
II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
CONDUCT a Second Reading by title only and with full reading waived, and ADOPT, Ordinance No. Ordinance 24-2411, entitled “AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CARSON MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 3101.5 TO (I) REQUIRE PERMITTEES TO SUBMIT DOCUMENTATION SUPPORTING THEIR REPORTED REVENUES, COSTS OF OPERATION, AND USE OF NET PROCEEDS OF THEIR FIREWORKS STANDS AND (II) REQUIRE CITY AUDITING OF PERMITTEES’ REPORTED REVENUES, COSTS OF OPERATION, AND USE OF NET PROCEEDS OF FIREWORKS STANDS”

TAKE any other action the City Council deems appropriate that is consistent with the requirements of the law.
IV. BACKGROUND
At the June 4, 2024, Council Meeting, the City of Carson introduced Ordinance No. 24-2411, requiring permittees to submit supporting documentation and require city auditing for fireworks stands reported revenues, costs of operations, and use of net proceeds of the permittees fireworks stands. The City Council voted 5-0 to introduce Ordinance No. 24-2411 for first reading.
V. FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with the adoption of this Ordinance.
