CONSIDER RECORDING A "NOTICE OF EXEMPTION" IN THE OFFICE OF THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY CLERK AND WITH THE STATE CLEARING HOUSE FOR PROJECT NO. 1722 (213TH STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT), PURSUANT TO SECTION 15301 OF THE CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT GUIDELINES (CITY COUNCIL)

I. SUMMARY
Project No. 1722 - 213th Street Rehabilitation from Main St. to Avalon Blvd. is one of the projects listed on the City's Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and funded by Measure R, Measure M and DIF Traffic Fund Balance.
The project consists of removal and replacement of roadway pavement section, grind and overlay existing asphalt pavement, repair of damaged sidewalks, driveway approaches, curbs and gutters, access ramps, and tree removals and replacement. The required concrete improvements will repair and restore concrete to city standards and meet the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. This project also includes pavement overlay.
The Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) for Project No. 1722 - 213th Street Rehabilitation from Main St. to Avalon Blvd. have been completed and are ready for construction bids. The PS&E are on file in the City Engineer's Office. The estimated construction cost is $3,500,000.00.
The City Council is requested to authorize staff to advertise for construction bids, and to record the Notice of Exemption to satisfy the California Environmental Quality Act's requirements.
II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
TAKE the following actions:
1. AUTHORIZE staff to advertise the work and call for construction bids for Project No. 1722: 213th Street Rehabilitation Project from Main St to Avalon Blvd.
2. MAKE the California Environmental Quality Act finding that the proposed Project No. 1722: 213th Street Rehabilitation Project from Main St to Avalon Blvd are categorically exempt pursuant to Section 15301 of the California Environmental Quality Act guide...
