CONSIDER RESOLUTION N0. 24-035 APPROVING AN UPDATED SUCCESSOR MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF CARSON AND THE CARSON PROFESSIONALS AND SUPERVISORS ASSOCIATION (CPSA) - SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION (SEIU), LOCAL 721 (CITY COUNCIL)

I. SUMMARY
The City Council previously approved the successor MOU between the Carson Professionals and Supervisors (CPSA) - Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 721, by Resolution No. 24-027 on March 19, 2024. After the meeting it was observed that an incomplete document had been adopted. This prompted and granted an opportunity for a thorough review of the entire agreement. Staff is now presenting a final updated MOU in its entirety for Council's approval.
II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
WAIVE further reading and ADOPT:
Resolution No. 24-035, "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE UPDATED SUCCESSOR MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF CARSON AND THE CARSON PROFESSIONALS AND SUPERVISORS ASSOCIATION (CPSA) - SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION (SEIU), LOCAL 721, FOR THE PERIOD OF JULY 1, 2021 to JUNE 30, 2024."

IV. BACKGROUND
On March 19, 2024, the successor Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Carson and the Carson Professionals and Supervisors (CPSA) - Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 721, was approved by Council by approving Resolution No. 24-027.
It was later observed that agreed upon contract language was missing from the version of the document that was submitted. Upon this discovery both parties agreed that a comprehensive review of the entire document was necessary. As a result, staff is now presenting the complete and final version of the CPSA-SEIU successor Memorandum of Understanding for approval.
