CONSIDER A REQUEST FROM THE SOUTH BAY CITIES COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENT (SBCCOG) BOARD TO PROVIDE $2,500 FOR FACILITY RESERVATION CREDIT TO SBCCOG TO HOLD VARIOUS AGENCY FUNCTIONS AT THE CARSON EVENT CENTER

I. SUMMARY
For the first time in the City of Carson's history, the Chair of the South Bay Cities Council of Government (SBCCOG) is our City Councilmember Cedric L. Hicks. Councilman Hicks was recently appointed to serve as the 2023/24 Chair of the South Bay Cities Council of Government (SBCCOG). The organization presents several events throughout the South Bay on issues relevant to the region. To facilitate the City hosting some of these functions at the Carson Event Center. The SBCCOG is requesting a facility reservation credit of up to $2,500 from now through December 2024.

Recommendation
CONSIDER South Bay Cities Council of Government (SBCCOG) request for a facility reservation credit in the amount of $2,500 to be used through December 2024.

IV. BACKGROUND
The South Bay Cities Council of Government (SBCCOG) is a joint powers authority government agency of 16 cities and Los Angeles County that share the goal of maximizing the quality of life and productivity of the South Bay subregion of Los Angeles. South Bay cities and the county maintain the qualities and characteristics that make them unique and independent, while coming together collectively to address issues of common interest for a greater good. Its members are motivated by the collective vision of what the SBCCOG can do for our communities by working together to foster cooperation, collaboration, and innovation.
