IV.                     BACKGROUND

The City of Carson is responsible for maintaining 12 parks and 4 mini-parks. To ensure that these parks remain functional and visually appealing, the staff included Project No. 1778 in the development process of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The objective of this project was to replace the nonfunctional scoreboards at the parks to enhance the recreational sports programs.

The construction of the project has been completed satisfactorily, and the facilities are now fully open and available for public use. Staff is requesting the City Council accepts the project as complete and authorizes them to proceed with filing the Notice of Completion with the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder Office.

The CIP budget for this project amounts to $600,000.00 and is being funded by Quimby. The total amount spent on installing new scoreboards is $203,721.28, which leaves $396,278.72 available for future projects.
