CONSIDER APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO AN AGREEMENT WITH HDL COREN & CONE TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL AUDIT AND ANALYSIS OF CITY PROPERTY TAX (CITY COUNCIL).

I. SUMMARY
On May 18, 2021, HdL Coren & Cone was awarded a 3-year contract services agreement for the analysis and audit of the City’s Property Tax revenues with two one-year extension options, for a base amount of $50,459.00 plus 25% of net property tax revenues recovered for the City in the audits performed over the period of time allowable by State statute. The recovery fees are not to exceed $10,000.00. Staff is requesting approval of Amendment No. 1 (Exhibit 1) to extend the contract term by one (1) year and increase the contract sum by $17,840.00, thereby bringing the adjusted contract sum to $68,299.00.
II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
TAKE the following actions:
1. APPROVE Amendment No. 1 Agreement for contract services by and between the City of Carson and HDL Coren & Cone for professional audit and analysis of City’s property tax revenues.

IV. BACKGROUND
On May 18, 2021, HdL Coren & Cone was awarded a 3-year contract services agreement for the analysis and audit of the City’s property tax revenues with two one-year options to extent, for a base amount of $50,549 plus 25% of net property tax revenues recovered for the City in the audits performed over the period of time allowable by State statute. The recovery fees are not to exceed $10,000.00. Staff is requesting that City Council approve Amendment No. 1 to extend the contract term by one (1) year and increase the contract sum by $17,840.00, thereby bringing the adjusted contract sum to $68,299.00. This increase will not alter the not to exceed $10,000.00 amount of 25% of net property tax revenues recovered by Consultant.
V. FISCAL IMPACT
There is no additional funding requested at this time. The total appropriation is available within the Finance department budget of the General Fund.
