I. SUMMARY
On March 6, 2024, under Item No. 20 of the City Council Agenda, the City Council voted 5-0 to introduce Ordinance No. 24-2404. This item transmits a request for City Council to conduct a Second Reading and adopt Ordinance No. 24-2404.
II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
TAKE the following action:
1. CONDUCT a Second Reading by title only and with full reading waived, and ADOPT, Ordinance No. 24-2404, entitled "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON, CALIFORNIA, ADDING A NEW CHAPTER 3 (ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT) TO ARTICLE X OF THE CARSON MUNICIPAL CODE SPECIFICALLY AUTHORIZING CITY TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES"

TAKE any other action the City Council deems appropriate that is consistent with the requirements of the law.
IV. BACKGROUND
At the March 6, 2024, Council Meeting, the City of Carson introduced Ordinance No. 24-2404, adding a new chapter on Economic Development to the Carson Municipal Code. The City Council opened the public hearing, heard public testimony, closed the public hearing and voted 5-0 to introduce Ordinance No. 24-2404 for first reading.
V. FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with the adoption of this Ordinance. The fiscal impacts of individual funding agreements under the Commercial Fa?ade Improvement program will be separately addressed in the staff reports presented at a future Council meeting.
