Under City Manager authority a Public Works contract of $18,191.83 was issued to Great Western Installation Inc., to remove and replace the old basketball mounts, backboards (4) and rims on the two outdoor basketball courts at Stevenson Park.

III.                     ALTERNATIVES

1.                     DO NOT ACCEPT the project as complete.

2.                     TAKE another action the City Council deems appropriate consistent with the requirements of the law.

IV.                     BACKGROUND

The outdoor basketball courts were in need of repair and replacement after many years of wear and tear. The mounts on the poles were bent and the backboards were fading and it was time to replace. Staff obtained and reviewed three quotes to remove and install new mounts, basketball backboards and rims.

After reviewing the quotes, Great Western Installation Inc. was selected as the lowest responsible responsive bidder and a contract agreement was created for this project. The project was completed in two days, and the new mounts, backboards and rims have been installed in an acceptable manner (Exhibit 1).

V.                     FISCAL IMPACT
