I. SUMMARY
On October 3, 2023, under Item No. 37 of the City Council Agenda, the City Council voted 5-0 to introduce Ordinance No. 23-2308. This item transmits a request for City Council to conduct a Second Reading and adopt Ordinance No. 23-2308.
II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
CONDUCT a Second Reading by title only and with full reading waived, and ADOPT, Ordinance No. 23-2308, entitled "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 2707 (STIPEND AND EXPENSES) OF CHAPTER 7 (DEPARTMENTS, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS) OF ARTICLE II (ADMINISTRATION) OF THE CARSON MUNICIPAL CODE TO INCREASE PLANNING COMMISSIONER STIPENDS FROM $50 TO $100 PER MEETING, AND TO INCREASE THE MONTHLY STIPEND LIMIT FROM $200 TO $400 PER MONTH PER COMMISSIONER".

IV. BACKGROUND
At the October 3, 2023, Council Meeting, the City of Carson introduced Ordinance No. 23-2308, Amending Section 2707 (Stipend and Expenses) of Chapter 7 (Departments, Boards, Commissions) of Article II (Administration) of the Carson Municipal Code to increase Planning Commissioner stipends from $50 to $100 per meeting, and to increase the monthly stipend limit from $200 to $400 per month per commissioner.
