CONSIDER AN AWARD OF A CONTRACT SERVICES AGREEMENT TO RON'S MAINTENANCE, INC. TO PROVIDE CATCH BASIN CLEANING SERVICES CITYWIDE

I. SUMMARY

On August 24, 2023, the City of Carson (City) issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 23-029 for a three-year maintenance services agreement to clean catch basins within City boundaries. Six bids were received, and staff determined Ron's Maintenance, Inc. to be the most qualified and lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a total bid in the amount of $203,385.00 per year for the next three years, plus as-needed catch basin stenciling of $19,370.00 per year, for a total not-to-exceed contract sum of $668,265.00 (Exhibit No. 1). Staff is requesting that the City Council award a three-year Contract Services Agreement for citywide catch basin cleaning in an amount not to exceed $668,265.00. (Exhibit No. 2).

II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation

TAKE the following actions:
1. AWARD a Contract Services Agreement to Ron's Maintenance, Inc. for the cleaning of catch basins citywide, in the amount of $203,385 per year for the next three years, plus as-needed catch basin stenciling of $19,370 per year, for a total not-to-exceed contract sum of $668,265, with City options to extend the contract for an additional three years at the City's sole discretion.
2. AUTHORIZE the Mayor to execute the Contract Services Agreement with Ron's Maintenance Inc. following approval as to form by the City Attorney.

1. DO NOT APPROVE the Contract Services Agreement.
2. TAKE another action City Council deems appropriate consistent with the requirements of the law.
