I. SUMMARY

Staff is presenting the amended job specifications and the salary allocation for the Senior Council Aide and Council Aide positions to correct the salary and benefits. Although previously submitted, it is being brought back in proper form.

II. RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation

WAIVE further reading and ADOPT the following resolution:
Resolution No. 23-137, "RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING AND RESTATING THE COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS FOR THE SENIOR COUNCIL AIDE AND COUNCIL AIDE CLASSIFICATIONS."

IV. BACKGROUND

On July 5, 2023, the unrepresented, unclassified exempt, at-will classification of Senior Council Aide was established by City Council by Resolution No. 23-113.
On that same Agenda, City Council adopted a revised classification specifications for Council Aide (full-time and part-time) via Resolution no. 23-119, which was subsequently rescinded and replaced by Resolution No. 23-126 and adopted on July 18, 2023.
These mentioned resolutions were intended to update and replace the compensation and benefits but were either incomplete and/or inaccurate.
Staff is now attempting to correctly amend and restate the compensation and benefits for the unrepresented, unclassified, exempt, at-will classification Senior Council Aide and Council Aide classifications, to clarify and correct the foregoing errors and discrepancies. These classifications assist the Mayor and City Council members with a variety of administrative duties and functions.
