CONSIDER A DATE CHANGE FOR THE MAY 2023 PARKS, RECREATION, AND CULTURAL ARTS COMMISSION MEETING

I. SUMMARY
The regular meeting of the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Commission is held on the fourth Thursday of the month. In May, the meeting is scheduled for May 25, 2023, which coincides with the City’s Memorial Day Celebration. Additionally, with the holiday falling on the following Monday, members, staff, the public, and Championship-winning players that are scheduled to be recognized may be vacationing during this time. Due to these circumstances, staff is requesting that this meeting be moved to Wednesday, May 24, 2023.

Per the Carson Municipal Code, the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Commission meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of every month. On May 25, 2023, the Commission is scheduled to have its meeting; however, the City will also be presenting its annual Memorial Day that day. Additionally, as the holiday falls on the following Monday, Commissioners, staff, and the public may be out of town. Due to these circumstances, staff is requesting that this meeting be rescheduled to Wednesday, May 24, 2023.V. FISCAL IMPACT
